We demand the self-evident<\/h1>

On 22 September, hundreds of children and adults cycled through Wiesbaden as part of the Kidical Mass and demanded a safe cycling infrastructure for children. It went on six car-free kilometers relaxed through the city. Wonderful highlight: On Schiersteiner Stra\u00dfe, the ADFC distributed street chalk, and no child had to be asked: Ruck, zuck, the roadway was colorfully painted and described, with bicycles, with hearts and with fantastic figures of all kinds. And with appeals that the road should finally belong to the children.<\/p>

On that day, the city organised a children\u2019s and family festival on the Dern\u2019s premises on the occasion of World Children\u2019s Day. And so this time the Kidical Mass ended where it started, on Dern\u2019s premises, where there was ice cream and games, but also where clubs, institutions and initiatives presented their work and offers for children.<\/p>

At this Kidical Mass, attention was drawn to some colorful posters that children had painted and attached to their bicycles or to those of their parents. One of the posters demanded in large colorful letters simply Safe bike paths for children.<\/em> And one wonders how we could actually get to the point that we have to demand such a self-evidentness over and over again, loudly and against resistance.<\/p>

And we continue to demand it in the future. The children, and probably also the parents, are already looking forward to next year when they will be allowed to \u2018go in red\u2019 again and when it is said again:<\/p>

Kidical Mass Wiesbaden im September 2024 auf der Schiersteiner Stra\u00dfe <\/h3>\n

Wir fordern Selbstverst\u00e4ndliches<\/h1>

Am 22. September radelten im Rahmen der Kidical Mass wieder hunderte Kinder und Erwachsene durch Wiesbaden und forderten eine sichere Radinfrastruktur f\u00fcr Kinder. Es ging auf sechs autofreien Kilometern entspannt durch die Stadt. Wunderbares Highlight: Auf der Schiersteiner Stra\u00dfe verteilte der ADFC Stra\u00dfenkreide, und kein Kind musste erst gefragt werden: Ruck, zuck, war die Fahrbahn kunterbunt bemalt und beschrieben, mit Fahrr\u00e4dern, mit Herzen und mit fantastischen Figuren aller Art. Und mit Appellen, dass die Stra\u00dfe endlich auch den Kindern geh\u00f6ren soll.<\/p>

An diesem Tag richtete die Stadt auf dem Dern\u2019schen Gel\u00e4nde anl\u00e4sslich des Weltkindertages ein Kinder- und Familienfest aus. Und so endete die Kidical Mass dieses Mal dort, wo sie anfing, n\u00e4mlich auf dem Dern\u2019schen Gel\u00e4nde, wo es Eis und Spiele gab, wo aber auch Vereine, Einrichtungen und Initiativen ihre Arbeit und ihre Angebote f\u00fcr Kinder pr\u00e4sentierten.<\/p>

Die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zogen bei dieser Kidical Mass einige bunte Plakate, die Kinder gemalt und an ihren Fahrr\u00e4dern oder an denen ihrer Eltern angebracht hatten. Eines der Plakate forderte in gro\u00dfen bunten Buchstaben schlicht Sichere Radwege f\u00fcr Kinder.<\/em> Und man fragt sich, wie wir eigentlich an den Punkt kommen konnten, dass wir eine solche Selbstverst\u00e4ndlichkeit wieder und immer wieder, laut und gegen Widerst\u00e4nde einfordern m\u00fcssen.<\/p>

Und wir fordern es auch in Zukunft weiter ein. Die Kinder, und wohl auch die Eltern, freuen sich schon auf das n\u00e4chste Jahr, wenn sie wieder \u201ebei Rot fahren d\u00fcrfen\u201c und wenn es wieder hei\u00dft:<\/p>
