ADFC Kidical Mass: Streets are for everyone!<\/strong><\/h1>\n

On Sunday 22 September 2024, the cycling club ADFC will host the 13th edition of the event. Kidical Mass in Wiesbaden. Meeting point is at 15:00 on the Dern\u2019s premises. <\/strong><\/p>\n

At the Children's Bicycle Corso, the young traffic participants and their parents can cycle comfortably and safely through Wiesbaden's streets for over an hour. The aim is the World Children's Day Festival on Schlossplatz.
In a short break, a visible sign is set with chalk. In the process, the children convert a busy road in a few seconds, turning street grey into children's colour.<\/p>\n

Part of a nationwide action weekend<\/strong>
On the action days from 16 September to 27 October 2024, tens of thousands of people cycle in over 400 places. From the metropolitan region to rural areas, people are campaigning for safe school paths and independent mobility. For the children, this means not having to be brave for a short moment to cycle on the road. Fabian Heil, initiator of the Kidical Mass, puts it in a nutshell: \u2018Children have a right to move safely, independently and protected. Only when we focus on children and vulnerable people in transport policy do we create a future-oriented design of public space for all. Cities such as Paris, Ghent and Utrecht are now doing it and changing the transport system quickly and efficiently. We want to do the same in Wiesbaden!\u201d<\/p>\n

Background \u2018Kidical Mass\u2019<\/strong>
The Kidical Mass is a form of action for children- and bicycle-friendly cities, which was invented in 2008 in Oregon (USA). The first German Kidical Mass demonstrations were organised by families in Berlin, Darmstadt, Stuttgart and Cologne in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, a Kidical Mass took place in Wiesbaden for the first time as part of the city cycling.<\/p>\n

ADFC Kidical Mass: Stra\u00dfen sind f\u00fcr alle da!<\/strong><\/h1>

Am Sonntag, 22. September 2024 veranstaltet der Fahrradclub ADFC die 13. Kidical Mass Wiesbaden. Treffpunkt ist um 15:00 Uhr auf dem Dern'schen Gel\u00e4nde. <\/strong><\/p>

Beim Kinder-Fahrrad-Korso k\u00f6nnen die jungen Verkehrsteilnehmenden und ihre Eltern gut eine Stunde bequem und sicher durch Wiesbadens Stra\u00dfen Rad fahren. Ziel ist das Weltkindertagsfest auf dem Schlo\u00dfplatz.
In einer kurzen Pause wird ein sichtbares Zeichen mit Kreide gesetzt. Dabei wandeln die Kinder eine viel befahrene Stra\u00dfe in wenigen Sekunden um, aus Stra\u00dfen-Grau wird so Kinder-Bunt.<\/p>

Teil eines bundesweiten Aktionswochenende<\/strong>
An den Aktionstagen vom 16.09. bis 27.10.2024 fahren zehntausende Menschen in \u00fcber 400 Orten Rad. Von der Metropolregion bis in den l\u00e4ndlichen Raum machen sich die Menschen f\u00fcr sichere Schulwege und selbstst\u00e4ndige Mobilit\u00e4t stark. F\u00fcr die Kinder bedeutet dies f\u00fcr einen kurzen Moment nicht mutig sein zu m\u00fcssen, um auf der Stra\u00dfe Rad zu fahren. Fabian Heil, Initiator der Kidical Mass, bringt es auf den Punkt: \"Kinder haben ein Recht darauf, sich sicher, selbstst\u00e4ndig und gesch\u00fctzt zu bewegen. Erst wenn wir Kinder und vulnerable Menschen bei der Verkehrspolitik in den Fokus setzen, schaffen wir eine zukunftsgerechte Gestaltung des \u00f6ffentlichen Raumes f\u00fcr alle. St\u00e4dte wie Paris, Gent und Utrecht machen es jetzt vor und krempeln daf\u00fcr das Verkehrssystem schnell und effizient um. Genauso wollen wir das auch in Wiesbaden!\"<\/p>

Hintergrund \u201eKidical Mass\u201c<\/strong>
Die Kidical Mass ist eine Aktionsform f\u00fcr kinder- und fahrradfreundliche St\u00e4dte, die 2008 in Oregon (USA) erfunden wurde. Die ersten deutschen Kidical Mass-Demos organisierten Familien 2017 und 2018 in Berlin, Darmstadt, Stuttgart und K\u00f6ln. 2019 fand erstmalig im Rahmen des Stadtradeln eine Kidical Mass in Wiesbaden statt.<\/p>
