29.09. Raddemo over the A5!<\/h1>

More than 40 groups and organizations are starting the protest against the expansion with a bicycle demonstration on the A5. The ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus also calls for participation. A bike feeder tour to Frankfurt starts at 11 a.m. at the bike wardrobe at Dern\u2019sche Gel\u00e4nde.<\/p>

The effects of Autobahn GmbH's long-sealed feasibility study would be enormous: a large-scale construction site that lasted for years, large-scale surface sealing and many closed cycle routes. It would be the first expansion of a motorway to ten lanes in Germany at all. As a result, significantly more people would drive the route, which will lead to additional noise, exhaust fumes, accidents and, in the end, congestion \u2013 not only directly on the motorway, but also on the roads in front of and behind it.<\/p>

While the city of Frankfurt promotes the alternatives to the car and clearly rejects the expansion of the A5, Berlin and Wiesbaden are trying to generate more car traffic with more roads, which should then also flow to Frankfurt. How this should work with the limited space in the city, no one wants to explain so far.<\/p>

The people living on the motorway are lured with more noise protection, but what this means in detail is unclear so far. In the feasibility study itself, the experts write that even with combinations of earth walls and walls up to 13 meters high, the nocturnal limits for noise in residential areas between Nordwestkreuz Frankfurt and AS Friedberg are exceeded. Also between Frankfurter Kreuz and Nordwestkreuz Frankfurt, they assume that even the fundamental rights reasonableness threshold of 70\/60 dB(A) is exceeded day\/night in the residential areas directly on the A 5. Therefore, housing is recommended, but it requires more space for construction, entails a longer construction period and is not yet included in the previously estimated 1.1 billion euros construction costs.<\/p>

For this purpose, various plots of land, sports fields, allotment clubs, a European bird sanctuary and a drinking water sanctuary should be at least partially asphalted or become protective walls and walls. The expansion would also heat up the city of Frankfurt even further, as the experts themselves write: \u2018The A 5 with the planned width of the road and the height of parallel sound insulation systems is an obstacle to these air flows. In view of the temperature increases forecast for the RheinMain area, especially in midsummer, the reduction of the off-road climate compensation function as a result of a further expansion of the A 5 in addition to road traffic-related noise constitutes a conflict for the resident population of the Rhine-Main area.\u2019<\/p>

The kick-off demonstration starts on 29.9.2024 at 2 p.m. on Mainkai, after an interim rally at 3.10 p.m. on Schwanheimer Ufer, the A5 will be cycled from 3.30 p.m. End around 4 p.m. at the Bockenheimer Warte.<\/p>

29.09. Raddemo \u00fcber die A5!<\/h1>

\u00dcber 40 Gruppen und Organisationen starten den Protest gegen den Ausbau mit einer Fahrraddemo auf der A5. Auch der ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus ruft zur Teilnahme auf. Eine Zubringertour mit dem Rad nach Frankfurt startet um 11 Uhr an der Fahrrad-Garderobe am Dern'schen Gel\u00e4nde.<\/p>

Die Auswirkungen der lange unter Verschluss gehaltenen Machbarkeitsstudie der Autobahn GmbH w\u00e4ren enorm: Eine \u00fcber Jahre andauernde Gro\u00dfbaustelle, Fl\u00e4chenversiegelung im gro\u00dfen Stil und viele gesperrte Radverkehrsverbindungen. Es w\u00e4re der erste Ausbau einer Autobahn auf zehn Fahrstreifen in Deutschland \u00fcberhaupt. Im Ergebnis w\u00fcrden deutlich mehr Menschen die Strecke mit dem Auto fahren, was f\u00fcr zus\u00e4tzlichen L\u00e4rm, Abgase, Unf\u00e4lle und am Ende wieder Stau f\u00fchren wird \u2013 nicht nur direkt auf der Autobahn, sondern auch auf den Stra\u00dfen davor und dahinter.<\/p>

W\u00e4hrend die Stadt Frankfurt die Alternativen zum Auto f\u00f6rdert und den Ausbau der A5 klar ablehnt, wird aus Berlin und Wiesbaden versucht mit mehr Stra\u00dfen mehr Autoverkehr zu erzeugen, der dann auch nach Frankfurt flie\u00dfen soll. Wie das mit dem begrenzten Platz in der Stadt funktionieren soll, will bisher niemand erkl\u00e4ren.<\/p>

Die an der Autobahn wohnenden Menschen werden mit mehr L\u00e4rmschutz gelockt, was das im Detail bedeutet ist aber bisher unklar. In der Machbarkeitsstudie selbst schreiben die Fachleute, dass sogar mit bis zu 13 Meter hohen Kombinationen aus Erdw\u00e4llen und W\u00e4nden die n\u00e4chtlichen Grenzwerte f\u00fcr L\u00e4rm in Wohngebieten zwischen Nordwestkreuz Frankfurt und AS Friedberg \u00fcberschritten werden. Auch zwischen Frankfurter Kreuz und Nordwestkreuz Frankfurt gehen sie davon aus, dass sogar die grundrechtliche Zumutbarkeitsschwelle von 70\/60 dB(A) tags\/nachts in den Wohngebieten unmittelbar an der A 5 \u00fcberschritten wird. Es wird daher eine Einhausung empfohlen, die aber weiteren Platz f\u00fcr den Bau ben\u00f6tigt, eine l\u00e4ngere Bauzeit nach sich zieht und bei den bisher gesch\u00e4tzten 1,1 Milliarden Euro Baukosten noch nicht ber\u00fccksichtigt ist.<\/p>

Daf\u00fcr sollen diverse Grundst\u00fccke, Sportpl\u00e4tze, Kleingartenvereine, ein Europ\u00e4isches Vogelschutzgebiet und ein Trinkwasserschutzgebiet mindestens teilweise asphaltiert bzw. zu Schutzmauern und -w\u00e4nden werden w\u00fcrden. Auch w\u00fcrde der Ausbau die Stadt Frankfurt noch weiter aufheizen, wie die Fachleute selbst schreiben: \u201eF\u00fcr diese Luftstr\u00f6mungen stellt die A 5 mit der geplanten Fahrbahnbreite und der H\u00f6he paralleler Schallschutzanlagen ein Hindernis dar. Angesichts der f\u00fcr das RheinMain-Gebiet prognostizierten Temperatursteigerungen vor allem im Hochsommer stellt die Verringerung der gel\u00e4ndeklimatischen Ausgleichsfunktion infolge eines weiteren Ausbaus der A 5 zus\u00e4tzlich zur stra\u00dfenverkehrsbedingten Verl\u00e4rmung einen Konflikt f\u00fcr die Wohnbev\u00f6lkerung des Rhein-Main-Gebietes dar.\u201c<\/p>

Die Auftakt-Demonstration startet am 29.9.2024 um 14 Uhr am Mainkai, nach einer Zwischenkundgebung um 15.10 Uhr am Schwanheimer Ufer wird ab 15.30 Uhr die A5 beradelt. Ende gegen 16 Uhr an der Bockenheimer Warte.<\/p>
