ADFC welcomes higher share of cycling<\/h1>\n

On Friday, February 28, the state capital Wiesbaden published the latest figures on the modal split, i.e. the choice of means of transport. The share of foot and bicycle traffic has increased, while a decline can be observed in public transport and especially in motor vehicle traffic. ADFC Wiesbaden is pleased with the increase in the proportion of bicycle traffic and sees the results as confirmation that the establishment of new, wider cycle paths, bicycle roads and speed limits act as measures. Cycling is more attractive.<\/p>\n

By bike to work<\/h3>\n

ADFC erfreut \u00fcber h\u00f6heren Radverkehrsanteil<\/h1>

Am Freitag, 28. Februar, ver\u00f6ffentlichte die Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden die aktuellen Zahlen zum Modal-Split, also der Verkehrsmittelwahl. Der Anteil bei Fu\u00df- und Radverkehr ist gestiegen, w\u00e4hrend beim \u00d6PNV und vor allem beim Kfz-Verkehr ein R\u00fcckgang zu beobachten ist. Den ADFC Wiesbaden freut die Steigerung des Radverkehranteils und sieht die Ergebnisse als eine Best\u00e4tigung, dass die Einrichtung neuer, breiterer Radwege, Fahrradstra\u00dfen sowie Tempolimits als Ma\u00dfnahmen wirken. Das Fahren mit dem Fahrrad ist attraktiver.<\/p>

Mit dem Rad zur Arbeit<\/h3>

Besonders deutlich ist die Steigerung des Anteils bei Arbeitswegen. Seit 2013 hat sich der Anteil fast verdoppelt auf jetzt 13 %. Neben den baulichen Verbesserungen durch die Stadt Wiesbaden, beobachtet der ADFC Wiesbaden, dass immer mehr Arbeitgeber das Rad fahren f\u00f6rdern. Dienstradleasing und verbesserten Abstellanlagen an Arbeitsst\u00e4tten
erleichtern das Pendeln zur Arbeit. Gerade auf Strecken ab 5 km L\u00e4nge hat sich der Anteil des Radverkehrs mehr als verdoppelt. Hier zeigen sich die Potenziale von Pedelecs. Die zunehmende Verbreitung von Pedelec erh\u00f6ht die Bereitschaft der Radfahrenden weitere Strecken im Alltag mit dem Fahrrad zur\u00fcckzulegen. Die Topografie stellt kein Hindernis mehr dar.<\/p>

Kinderr\u00e4der bleiben im Keller<\/h3>

Im Gegensatz dazu, f\u00e4llt auf, dass der Anteil der Wege zu Schule und Kita auf niedrigem Niveau nahezu unver\u00e4ndert bleibt.
\"Das Angebot f\u00fcr sichere und erfahrene Radfahrende hat sich in Wiesbaden in den letzten Jahren stark verbessert. Wichtig ist, dass der Ausbau von Radwege weiter vorangetrieben wird. Ben\u00f6tigt werden Radwegen auf denen Eltern ihre Kinder alleine fahren lassen k\u00f6nnen
und gute Abstellanlagen an Schulen. Der ADFC Wiesbaden zeigt mit dem Radstern, wie ein Netz aus sicheren Fahrradstra\u00dfen im Nebenstra\u00dfennetz aussehen kann. Damit besteht ein gro\u00dfes Potenzial f\u00fcr eine Erh\u00f6hung des Radverkehrsanteil bei Kindern und Jugendlichen als Alternative zu 'Elterntaxis'\" sagt G\u00fcnni Kerber, Vorsitzender ADFC Wiesbaden.
