ADFC congratulates: 100,000th cyclist in Bertramstra\u00dfe<\/h1>\n

Cycling network and bicycle roads significantly relieve the inner city of car traffic<\/h6>\n

WIESBADEN, 30.04.2025. Thanks to the installed meter, we now know exactly: The supposedly so lazy Wiesbadeners use the bike a lot and gladly, if the conditions are right. Since the beginning of the year, 100,000 bicycle rides have been counted on the Bertramstra\u00dfe bicycle road.<\/p>\n

Last night, the cycling club ADFC surprised the 100,000th cyclist with a spontaneous party: Anton Pohl passed the bicycle counter at 10:52 p.m. on his way home from the city and filled the 100,000 with great cheers. \u201cI live here around the corner and actually cycle every day. It is convenient to come to university, to friends or over to Mainz,\" says the student. Karoline Dei\u00dfner and Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein from the ADFC presented the \u2018winner\u2019 with a bouquet of spring flowers and a \u20ac50 voucher for cycling equipment donated by B.O.C.<\/p>\n

Supply determines demand<\/h6>\n

\"The success of the cycle route shows very clearly how supply determines demand\", says Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein from ADFC Wiesbaden. The safe bike connection from Klarenthal to Wilhelmstra\u00dfe and the well-chosen bike route in the city centre would have made cycling noticeably more attractive. \"If you ride a bike safely and quickly, people will use it.\" And the city as a whole benefits from this: bicycle mobility saves the city centre many thousands of car rides and the associated parking lot search traffic. \u2018Whoever rides a bicycle relieves the traffic and parking situation to a much greater extent than the necessary structural adjustments take away parking space\u2019, says Fleckenstein. Less exhaust fumes and noise also meant a higher quality of living and residence \u2013 Paris and Barcelona demonstrated it.<\/p>\n

Encouragement to stay ahead<\/h6>\n

\u2018The 100,000 since the beginning of the year, i.e. mainly in winter, is already a house number\u2019, according to the ADFC. \u2018On 29 April alone, more than 1,500 cyclists passed the meter.\u2019 Nevertheless, there is still a lot to do for bicycle mobility in Wiesbaden. For example, cycling on a bicycle road should necessarily also have the right of way at the intersections \u2013 corresponding signs are unfortunately still pending. In addition, the ADFC calls for greater control over the holding and parking of cars in the \u2018second row\u2019. \u2018If the road is narrowed, it will not only become confusing and less safe for cyclists.\u2019 In addition, the network of bicycle roads needs to be expanded. In addition to Bertramstra\u00dfe\/Goebenstra\u00dfe and Mosbacher Stra\u00dfe, the planned bicycle road in Adelheidstra\u00dfe is a valuable and important next implementation step. \u201cWe are already looking forward to this.\u201d<\/p>\n

ADFC gratuliert: 100.000ster Radfahrer in der Bertramstra\u00dfe<\/h1>

Radnetz und Fahrradstra\u00dfen entlasten die Innenstadt erheblich vom PKW-Verkehr<\/h6>

WIESBADEN, 30.04.2025. Dank des installierten Z\u00e4hlers wissen wir es nun genau: Die angeblich so sattelfaulen Wiesbadener:innen nutzen das Fahrrad viel und gerne, wenn die Rahmenbedingungen stimmen. Seit Jahresbeginn sind auf der Fahrradstra\u00dfe Bertramstra\u00dfe nun 100.000 Fahrradfahrten gez\u00e4hlt worden.<\/p>

Den 100.000sten Radfahrer \u00fcberraschte der Fahrrad-Club ADFC gestern Abend mit einer spontanen Party: Anton Pohl passierte den Fahrradz\u00e4hler um 22:52 Uhr auf dem Weg aus der Stadt nach Hause und machte unter gro\u00dfem Jubel die 100.000 voll. \"Ich wohne hier um die Ecke und fahre eigentlich t\u00e4glich mit dem Rad. Es ist praktisch, um in die Uni zu kommen, zu Freunden oder r\u00fcber nach Mainz\", erz\u00e4hlt der Student. Karoline Dei\u00dfner und Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein vom ADFC \u00fcberreichten dem \"Gewinner\" einen Strau\u00df Fr\u00fchlingsblumen und dazu einen Gutschein \u00fcber 50 Euro f\u00fcr Radfahr-Equipment, gespendet von B.O.C.<\/p>

Angebot bestimmt Nachfrage<\/h6>

\"Der Erfolg der Fahrradstra\u00dfe zeigt sehr deutlich, wie das Angebot die Nachfrage bestimmt\", sagt Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein vom ADFC Wiesbaden. So h\u00e4tten die sichere Radverbindung von Klarenthal bis zur Wilhelmstra\u00dfe und die gut gew\u00e4hlte Fahrradstra\u00dfe in der Innenstadt das Radfahren merklich attraktiver gemacht. \u201eWenn es mit dem Fahrrad sicher und schnell geht, nutzen es die Leute.\u201c Und davon profitiere die Stadt insgesamt: Fahrrad-Mobilit\u00e4t erspare der Innenstadt viele Tausend PKW-Fahrten samt dem dazugeh\u00f6rigen Parkplatzsuchverkehr. \"Wer mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs ist, entlastet die Verkehrs- und Parksituation in weit h\u00f6herem Ma\u00dfe als n\u00f6tige bauliche Anpassungen Parkraum wegnehmen\", so Fleckenstein. Weniger Abgase und L\u00e4rm bedeuteten au\u00dferdem eine h\u00f6here Wohn- und Aufenthaltsqualit\u00e4t - Paris und Barcelona machten es vor.<\/p>

Ansporn zum Dranbleiben<\/h6>

\"Die 100.000 seit Jahresbeginn, also vorwiegend im Winter, das ist schon eine Hausnummer\", so der ADFC. \"Alleine am 29. April haben \u00fcber 1.500 Radfahrende den Z\u00e4hler passiert.\" Dennoch bleibe f\u00fcr die Fahrradmobilit\u00e4t in Wiesbaden noch einiges zu tun. So sollte der Radverkehr auf einer Fahrradstra\u00dfe unbedingt auch an den Kreuzungen Vorfahrt haben \u2013 eine entsprechende Beschilderung stehe leider noch aus. Au\u00dferdem fordert der ADFC das Halten und Parken von PKW in der \u201ezweiten Reihe\u201c st\u00e4rker zu kontrollieren. \"Ist die Fahrbahn eingeengt, wird es nicht nur f\u00fcr Radfahrende un\u00fcbersichtlich und weniger sicher.\" Au\u00dferdem m\u00fcsse das Netz an Fahrradstra\u00dfen ausgebaut werden. Neben der Bertramstra\u00dfe\/Goebenstra\u00dfe und der Mosbacher Stra\u00dfe sei die geplante Fahrradstra\u00dfe in der Adelheidstra\u00dfe eine wertvoller und wichtiger n\u00e4chster Umsetzungsschritt. \"Darauf freuen wir uns schon jetzt.\"<\/p>
