The closed area currently serves primarily as a storage area for building materials.<\/p>\n<p>This blocking forces the cycle traffic to a diversion, which is already routed at the exit of Walluf to the cycle path on the opposite side of the road. The ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus warns urgently of the considerable dangers that this diversion entails.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dangerous diversion to the opposite side of the road<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The combined cycle and footpath on the south side of Wallufer Stra\u00dfe is clearly too narrow for encounter traffic. This already led to a serious accident between two cyclists, in which a person had to be treated in the hospital.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Risky road crossings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The detour route for cyclists from Walluf in the direction of Eltville includes two crossings of the district road at the ends of the village. Both crossings are located in areas with a speed of 50 and are difficult for car drivers to recognize.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The ADFC therefore urgently calls for measures to increase safety:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clear marking of the crossings, for example by highlighting them in colour on the road.<\/li>\n<li>Speed limit to 30 km\/h in the area of the crossings.<\/li>\n<li>Consistent monitoring and enforcement of speed limit compliance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Poor signage of the diversion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The current signposting of the detour for cycling is insufficient and urgently needs to be improved. At the beginning of the detour at the exit of Walluf, the detour sign is partially covered by vegetation and appears illogical, as the bike path is still passable here. Locally uninformed cyclists are therefore expected to switch to the other side of the road shortly before the actual blocking at the level crossing and at a confusing point. A plan sketch at the beginning of the diversion could provide a remedy and motivate a timely change.<\/p>\n<p>For cyclists from Oberwalluf, who meet the barrier directly behind the level crossing, no information is provided by signage.<\/p>\n<p>The ADFC also criticizes that the blocking and the associated redirection are not yet communicated on the websites of the cities of Eltville or Walluf, as is usual with other traffic impairments.<\/p>\n<p>In view of the long-term duration of the project (at least until 23 August 2025), the importance of the cycle path as part of the highly frequented and touristically popular long-distance cycle path R3 and EuroVelo 15 and as an important school path, the ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus appeals to the relevant traffic authorities to improve the safety and signage of the detour route immediately.<\/p>\n<h3>About the ADFC<\/h3>\n<p>With more than 240,000 members, the Allgemeine Deutsche Fahrrad-Club e.V. fordert dringende Verbesserungen f\u00fcr gef\u00e4hrliche Radwegumleitung zwischen Walluf und Eltville<\/h1> <p>Walluf\/Eltville, 21.05.2025 \u2013 Aufgrund der Montage von L\u00e4rmschutzw\u00e4nden entlang der Bahnstrecke parallel zur Wallufer Stra\u00dfe ist ein Abschnitt des beliebten Radfernwegs R3 zwischen Walluf und Eltville voraussichtlich bis zum Ende des Sommers gesperrt. Der gesperrte Bereich dient derzeit prim\u00e4r als Lagerfl\u00e4che f\u00fcr Baumaterialien.<\/p> <p>Diese Sperrung zwingt den Radverkehr zu einer Umleitung, die bereits am Ortsausgang von Walluf auf den Radweg der gegen\u00fcberliegenden Stra\u00dfenseite geleitet wird. Der ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus warnt eindringlich vor den erheblichen Gefahren, die diese Umleitung mit sich bringt.<\/p> <p><strong>Gef\u00e4hrliche Umleitung auf die gegen\u00fcberliegende Stra\u00dfenseite<\/strong><\/p> <p>Der kombinierte Rad- und Fu\u00dfweg auf der S\u00fcdseite der Wallufer Stra\u00dfe ist f\u00fcr den Begegnungsverkehr deutlich zu schmal. Dies f\u00fchrte bereits zu einem schweren Unfall zwischen zwei Radfahrenden, bei dem eine Person im Krankenhaus behandelt werden musste.<\/p> <p><strong>Riskante Stra\u00dfenquerungen<\/strong><\/p> <p>Die Umleitungsstrecke f\u00fcr Radfahrende aus Walluf in Richtung Eltville beinhaltet zwei Querungen der Kreisstra\u00dfe jeweils an den Ortsenden. Beide Querungen befinden sich in Bereichen mit Tempo 50 und sind f\u00fcr Autofahrende schwer erkennbar.<\/p> <p><strong>Der ADFC fordert daher dringend Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Erh\u00f6hung der Sicherheit:<\/strong><\/p> <ul> <li>Deutliche Markierung der Querungen, beispielsweise durch farbliche Hervorhebung auf der Fahrbahn.<\/li> <li>Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung auf 30 km\/h im Bereich der Querungen.<\/li> <li>Konsequente \u00dcberwachung und Ahndung der Einhaltung der Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung.<\/li> <\/ul> <p><strong>Mangelhafte Beschilderung der Umleitung<\/strong><\/p> <p>Die aktuelle Beschilderung der Umleitung f\u00fcr den Radverkehr ist unzureichend und muss dringend verbessert werden. Am Beginn der Umleitung am Ortsausgang Walluf ist das Umleitungsschild teilweise durch Bewuchs verdeckt und erscheint unlogisch, da der Radweg hier noch befahrbar ist. Ortsunkundige Radfahrende werden daher voraussichtlich erst kurz vor der eigentlichen Sperrung am Bahn\u00fcbergang und an einer un\u00fcbersichtlichen Stelle auf die andere Stra\u00dfenseite wechseln. Eine Planskizze am Beginn der Umleitung k\u00f6nnte hier Abhilfe schaffen und zu einem rechtzeitigen Wechsel motivieren.<\/p> <p>F\u00fcr Radfahrende aus Oberwalluf, die direkt hinter dem Bahn\u00fcbergang auf die Sperrung treffen, fehlt jegliche Information durch Beschilderung.<\/p> <p>Der ADFC kritisiert zudem, dass die Sperrung und die damit verbundene Umleitung bisher weder auf den Webseiten der St\u00e4dte Eltville noch Walluf kommuniziert werden, wie es bei anderen Verkehrsbeeintr\u00e4chtigungen \u00fcblich ist.<\/p> <p>Angesichts der langfristigen Dauer des Projekts (mindestens bis zum 23. August 2025), der Bedeutung des Radwegs als Teil des stark frequentierten und touristisch beliebten Radfernwegs R3 und EuroVelo 15 sowie als wichtiger Schulweg, appelliert der ADFC Wiesbaden \/ Rheingau-Taunus an die zust\u00e4ndigen Verkehrsbeh\u00f6rden, die Sicherheit und die Beschilderung der Umleitungsstrecke umgehend zu verbessern.<\/p> <h3>\u00dcber den ADFC<\/h3> <p>Der Allgemeine Deutsche Fahrrad-Club e.V.
