The cyclists rate the \u2018bicycle climate\u2019 in Wiesbaden unchanged compared to 2022 with a \u2018smooth four\u2019 (from 3.95 to 3.98). In the category of German cities between 200,000 and 500,000 inhabitants, Hesse's state capital is thus from the 8th to the 11th century. Place (of 25) slipped. Although the field is close to each other, the city of M\u00fcnster was again able to secure first place in this size class \u2013 with a score of 2.97. Krefeld wears the \u2018Red Lantern\u2019 with a score of 4.51.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\"The ADFC cycling climate test is an important barometer for us for the situation and mood of people who are cycling in Wiesbaden\", says Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein from the ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus e.V. Executive Board. In 2022, many respondents perceived the courageously implemented measures for air pollution control and the promotion of cycling as a very positive dynamism. Now, however, the impression prevails that the expansion and modernization of the cycling infrastructure is no longer a priority. \"Cyclists also want to be accepted as equal road users\", says Fleckenstein.<\/p>\n<h3>Three key points of criticism remain unchanged<\/h3>\n<p>Indeed, the autumn 2024 results show little positive change compared to the last test two years ago. For example, the topics of \u2018checks on false parking spaces on cycle paths\u2019, \u2018conflicts with motor vehicles\u2019 and \u2018guidance for cyclists on construction sites\u2019 are again rated the worst with 4.8 points (on a scale of 1 to 6). Compared to 2022, the \u2018Recent bicycle promotion\u2019 and \u2018Cycling advertising\u2019 aspects have deteriorated particularly. Respondents find that Wiesbaden Central Station lacks a well-thought-out concept for directing bicycle traffic well to and around the station. The Mainz-Kastel link point, which is also important for cyclists, is described as a \u2018catastrophic cycling situation\u2019, in particular because of the ascent and descent to the Theodor-Heuss-Br\u00fccke to Mainz. At the same time, cyclists are pleased with the measures already taken. The new bicycle roads in the city centre are frequently praised: \u2018The new bicycle road on Mosbacher Stra\u00dfe is a win-win for cycling. Keep it up!\" is one of the many responses in this direction.<\/p>\n<h3>Demand for continuous cycle paths and consideration<\/h3>\n<p>The desire for an end-to-end network of cycle paths speaks from many comments. Because only a seamless, protected bicycle infrastructure enables safe cycling even for weaker traffic participants. An easy-to-implement measure is speed 30 zones, which are mentioned by cyclists as an important safety aspect. A second major concern is a more peaceful coexistence in the street space. One comment reads: \"Communication between all road users is really hardened and incomprehensible. We urgently need more speed in Wiesbaden to expand the bicycle infrastructure. Above all, the city has to work piece by piece on safe and continuous bike connections so that as many people as possible can be mobile by bike in everyday life. Especially at the stations there is an urgent need for action: a modern cycle path guide is intuitively understandable for all involved. It avoids conflicts \u2013 and thus accidents \u2013 between road users. In addition, we as ADFC urgently want an initiative for more respect and considerate cooperation in road traffic.<\/p>\n<h3>Insight into daily cycling practice<\/h3>\n<p>\u2018The bicycle climate test is an important reminder that Wiesbaden must not lose touch with cycling\u2019, the ADFC Wiesbaden is convinced. \"We are grateful that 916 Wiesbadeners shared their current experiences in the bicycle climate test\", says Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein. Especially the many concrete and constructive hints of the cyclists could be valuable for the administration and upcoming planning. \"The city has already shown great interest in the results of the survey. It is held every two years by the cycling club ADFC with the support of the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport and took place for the eleventh time in 2024. In order for well-founded results to be achieved, at least 50, 75 or 100 voting results must be available, depending on the size of the city. The survey is open to all, but is aimed specifically at cyclists and is therefore not representative of the population. Die Radfahrenden bewerten das \u201eFahrrad-Klima\u201c in Wiesbaden im Vergleich zu 2022 unver\u00e4ndert mit einer \u201eglatten Vier\u201c (von 3,95 auf 3,98). In der Kategorie der deutschen St\u00e4dte zwischen 200.000 und 500.000 Einwohner:innen ist Hessens Landeshauptstadt damit vom 8. auf den 11. Platz (von 25) abgerutscht. Wobei das Feld eng beieinander liegt: Platz 1 in dieser Gr\u00f6\u00dfenklasse konnte sich erneut die Stadt M\u00fcnster sichern \u2013 mit der Note 2,97. Die \u201eRote Laterne\u201c tr\u00e4gt Krefeld mit der Note 4,51.<\/p> <p>\u201eDer Fahrradklima-Test des ADFC ist f\u00fcr uns ein wichtiges Barometer f\u00fcr die Situation und die Stimmung der Menschen, die in Wiesbaden mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs sind\u201c, sagt Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein vom Vorstand des ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus e.V.. Viele Befragte h\u00e4tten 2022 die damals mutig umgesetzten Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Luftreinhaltung und F\u00f6rderung des Radverkehrs als sehr positive Dynamik wahrgenommen. Nun herrsche jedoch der Eindruck vor, dass Ausbau und Modernisierung der Radinfrastruktur keine Priorit\u00e4t mehr h\u00e4tten. \u201eDie Radfahrenden w\u00fcnschen sich au\u00dferdem, als gleichberechtige Verkehrsteilnehmer akzeptiert zu werden\u201c, so Fleckenstein.<\/p> <h3>Drei zentrale Kritikpunkte unver\u00e4ndert<\/h3> <p>In der Tat zeigen die Ergebnisse aus dem Herbst 2024 im Vergleich zum letzten Test vor zwei Jahren kaum positive Ver\u00e4nderungen. So werden erneut die Themen \u201eKontrollen von Falschparkern auf Radwegen\u201c, \u201eKonflikte mit\u00a0 Kraftfahrzeugen\u201c sowie die \u201eF\u00fchrung f\u00fcr Fahrradfahrende an Baustellen\u201c mit 4,8 Punkten (auf einer Skala von 1 bis 6) am schlechtesten bewertet. Im Vergleich zu 2022 besonders verschlechtert haben sich die Aspekte \u201eFahrradf\u00f6rderung in j\u00fcngster Zeit\u201c sowie \u201eWerbung f\u00fcr das Radfahren\u201c. Mit 1,9 erneut sehr positiv bewertet wird dagegen die Tatsache, dass die meisten Einbahnstra\u00dfen in Wiesbaden in der Gegenrichtung f\u00fcr Radfahrende freigegeben sind (2022: 2,0).<\/p>\n[gallery columns=\"2\" link=\"file\" size=\"large\" ids=\"72787,72788\"]\n<h3>Handlungsbedarf an Bahnh\u00f6fen \u2013 Lob f\u00fcr Fahrradstra\u00dfen<\/h3> <p>Zwei in der Umfrage besonders h\u00e4ufig benannte Problemstellen sind der Hauptbahnhof und der Bereich um den Bahnhof Kastel. Die Befragten finden: Am Wiesbadener Hauptbahnhof fehlt ein durchdachtes Konzept, um den Fahrradverkehr gut zum Bahnhof und darum herum zu leiten. Der ebenfalls f\u00fcr Radfahrende wichtige Verkn\u00fcpfungspunkt Mainz-Kastel wird insbesondere wegen der Auf- und Abfahrt zur Theodor-Heuss-Br\u00fccke nach Mainz als \u201ekatastrophale Radsituation\u201c beschrieben. Gleichzeitig freuen sich die Radfahrenden \u00fcber die bisher schon unternommenen Ma\u00dfnahmen. Immer wieder gelobt werden vor allem die neuen Fahrradstra\u00dfen in der Innenstadt: \u201eDie neue Fahrradstra\u00dfe in der Mosbacher Stra\u00dfe ist ein Gewinn f\u00fcr den Radverkehr. Weiter so!\u201c, lautet eine von vielen R\u00fcckmeldungen in diese Richtung.<\/p> <h3>Forderung nach durchg\u00e4ngigen Radwegen und R\u00fccksichtnahme<\/h3> <p>Der Wunsch nach einem durchg\u00e4ngigen Netz von Fahrradwegen spricht aus vielen Kommentaren. Denn nur eine l\u00fcckenlose, gesch\u00fctzte Fahrrad-Infrastruktur erm\u00f6glicht sicheres Radfahren auch f\u00fcr schw\u00e4chere Verkehrsteilnehmende. Eine einfach umzusetzende Ma\u00dfnahme sind Tempo-30-Zonen, die von den Radfahrenden als wichtiger Sicherheitsaspekt genannt werden. Ein zweites gro\u00dfes Anliegen ist ein friedlicheres Miteinander im Stra\u00dfenraum. So lautet ein Kommentar: \u201eDie Kommunikation zwischen allen Verkehrsteilnehmenden ist echt verh\u00e4rtet und uneinsichtig. Wir brauchen in Wiesbaden dringend mehr Tempo bei Ausbau der Fahrrad-Infrastruktur. Vor allem muss die Stadt St\u00fcck f\u00fcr St\u00fcck an sicheren und durchgehenden Radverbindungen arbeiten, damit m\u00f6glichst viele Menschen im Alltag mit dem Fahrrad mobil sein k\u00f6nnen. Besonders an den Bahnh\u00f6fen besteht akuter Handlungsbedarf: Eine moderne Radwege-F\u00fchrung ist f\u00fcr alle Beteiligten intuitiv verst\u00e4ndlich. Sie vermeidet Konflikte \u2013 und damit Unf\u00e4lle \u2013 zwischen den Verkehrsteilnehmenden. Daneben w\u00fcnschen wir uns als ADFC dringend eine Initiative f\u00fcr mehr Respekt und r\u00fccksichtsvolles Miteinander im Stra\u00dfenverkehr.<\/p> <h3>Einblick in die t\u00e4gliche Radfahr-Praxis<\/h3> <p>\u201eDer Fahrradklima-Test ist eine wichtige Erinnerung, dass Wiesbaden beim Thema Fahrradfahren nicht den Anschluss verlieren darf\u201c, ist der ADFC Wiesbaden \u00fcberzeugt. \u201eWir sind dankbar, dass 916 Wiesbadenerinnen und Wiesbadener im Fahrradklima-Test ihre aktuellen Erfahrungen geteilt haben\u201c, sagt Mich\u00e9le Fleckenstein. Vor allem die vielen konkreten und konstruktiven Hinweise der Radfahrenden k\u00f6nnten f\u00fcr die Verwaltung und anstehende Planungen wertvoll sein. \u201eDie Stadt hat bereits gro\u00dfes Interesse an den Ergebnissen der Befragung signalisiert. Er wird vom Fahrradclub ADFC alle zwei Jahre mit Unterst\u00fctzung des Bundesministeriums f\u00fcr Digitales und Verkehr durchgef\u00fchrt und fand 2024 zum elften Mal statt. Damit fundierte Ergebnisse erzielt werden k\u00f6nnen, m\u00fcssen je nach Stadtgr\u00f6\u00dfe mindestens 50, 75 oder 100 Abstimmungsergebnisse vorliegen. Die Umfrage ist offen f\u00fcr alle, richtet sich jedoch speziell an die Radfahrenden und ist deshalb nicht repr\u00e4sentativ f\u00fcr die Bev\u00f6lkerung. Die Ergebnisse des Tests haben durch die breite B\u00fcrgerbeteiligung jedoch hohe Aussagekraft und k\u00f6nnen Kommunen helfen, das Angebot f\u00fcr Radfahrende gezielt zu verbessern.
