ADFC calls for immediate restoration of the cycling route at the Landeshaus after construction measures<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Wiesbaden, 14.08.2025. In view of the current closure of the Gustav-Stresemann-Ring, the cycling club ADFC calls on the city to restore the original and safe cycling route at the Landeshaus immediately after the completion of the construction work. The measures taken now put cyclists in acute danger.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The current situation at the Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring is reminiscent of the events of the past year, when many dangerous situations already occurred after a similar blockade. The ADFC had already warned at that time that the intersection at the state house should not again become an accident centre of gravity. \"The safety of cyclists must not be sacrificed again for short-term measures\", says Michele Fleckenstein of the ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus Executive Board.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The continuous environmental trail on 1. Ring is for many cyclists a fast and very important connection to the train station, to the southeast and beyond. When changing lanes to the right without an attentive shoulder view, motorists now regularly put downhill cyclists in danger, which is why the measures now taken are completely unacceptable from the point of view of the bicycle club. \u201cWe understand that when a water pipe is broken, quick decisions have to be made. But a safe solution for cycling must always be taken into account\", demands Fleckenstein.<\/p>\n

When the right-hand turn at the state house was opened on Tuesday, the environmental lane had been completely closed for cycling and bus traffic without any comprehensible reason, which forced buses and cyclists to dangerous lane changes in the flowing traffic. \u2018This measure exemplifies the city\u2019s poor coordination of construction sites in dealing with cycling\u2019, the ADFC said.\u00a0In the meantime, the barrier has been removed from the lane again. However, it remains the perception that construction sites and diversions generally do not pay enough attention to the needs of the environmental network.<\/p>\n

The cycling club ADFC therefore demands:<\/p>\n

First: Immediate restoration of regular traffic management:<\/h6>\n

Immediately after the closure of the Gustav-Stresemann-Ring has been lifted, the environmental lane at the Landeshaus must be released for cycling and the right-turn lane must be closed again.<\/p>\n

Second: Improved planning of construction works:<\/h6>\n

In future construction projects, the cycling management must provide safe and practicable solutions from the outset.<\/p>\n

The ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus will continue to follow the development closely and work for the safety of cyclists in Wiesbaden.<\/p>\n

ADFC fordert sofortige Wiederherstellung der Radverkehrsf\u00fchrung am Landeshaus nach Bauma\u00dfnahmen<\/strong><\/h1>

Wiesbaden, 14.08.2025. Angesichts der aktuellen Sperrung am Gustav-Stresemann-Ring fordert der Fahrrad-Club ADFC die Stadt auf, die urspr\u00fcngliche und sichere Radverkehrsf\u00fchrung am Landeshaus nach Beendigung der Bauma\u00dfnahmen unverz\u00fcglich wiederherzustellen. Die jetzt getroffenen Ma\u00dfnahmen bringen Radfahrende in akute Gefahr.<\/strong><\/p>

Die aktuelle Situation am Kaiser-Friedrich-Ring erinnert an die Ereignisse des vergangenen Jahres, als es nach einer \u00e4hnlichen Sperrung bereits zu vielen gef\u00e4hrlichen Situationen kam. Der ADFC hatte bereits damals gewarnt, die Kreuzung am Landeshaus d\u00fcrfe nicht wieder zu einem Unfallschwerpunkt werden. \u201eDie Sicherheit der Radfahrenden darf nicht wieder f\u00fcr kurzfristige Ma\u00dfnahmen geopfert werden\u201c, so Michele Fleckenstein vom Vorstand des ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus.\u00a0<\/p>

Die durchgehende Umweltspur am 1. Ring ist f\u00fcr viele Radfahrende eine schnelle und sehr wichtige Verbindung zum Bahnhof, nach S\u00fcdost und dar\u00fcber hinaus. Beim Spurwechsel nach rechts ohne aufmerksamen Schulterblick bringen Autofahrende nun die bergab fahrenden Fahrradfahrer regelm\u00e4\u00dfig in Gefahr, weshalb die jetzt getroffenen Ma\u00dfnahmen aus Sicht des Fahrrad-Clubs v\u00f6llig inakzeptabel sind. \u201eWir haben Verst\u00e4ndnis daf\u00fcr, dass bei einem Wasserrohrbruch schnelle Entscheidungen getroffen werden m\u00fcssen. Doch eine sichere L\u00f6sung f\u00fcr den Radverkehr muss dabei unbedingt immer mitgedacht werden\u201c, fordert Fleckenstein.<\/p>

Bei \u00d6ffnung des Rechtsabbiegers am Landeshaus war am Dienstag die Umweltspur kurzerhand und ohne nachvollziehbaren Grund f\u00fcr den Rad- und Busverkehr komplett gesperrt worden, was Busse und Radfahrende zu gef\u00e4hrlichen Spurwechseln in den flie\u00dfenden Verkehr zwang. \u201eDiese Ma\u00dfnahme steht exemplarisch f\u00fcr die mangelhafte Baustellenkoordination der Stadt im Umgang mit dem Radverkehr\u201c, so der ADFC.\u00a0Mittlerweile wurde die Absperrung wieder von der Spur entfernt. Es bleibe jedoch die Wahrnehmung, dass bei Baustellen und Umleitungen grunds\u00e4tzlich zu wenig an die Bed\u00fcrfnisse des Umweltverbunds gedacht werde.<\/p>

Der Fahrrad-Club ADFC fordert daher:<\/p>

Erstens: Sofortige Wiederherstellung der regul\u00e4ren Verkehrsf\u00fchrung:<\/h6>

Unmittelbar nach Aufhebung der Sperrung des Gustav-Stresemann-Rings muss die Umweltspur am Landeshaus f\u00fcr den Radverkehr freigegeben und die Rechtsabbiegerspur wieder gesperrt werden.<\/p>

Zweitens: Verbesserte Planung bei Bauma\u00dfnahmen:<\/h6>

Bei zuk\u00fcnftigen Bauma\u00dfnahmen muss die Radverkehrsf\u00fchrung von Anfang an sichere und praktikable L\u00f6sungen vorsehen.<\/p>

Der ADFC Wiesbaden\/Rheingau-Taunus wird die Entwicklung weiterhin aufmerksam verfolgen und sich f\u00fcr die Sicherheit der Radfahrenden in Wiesbaden einsetzen.<\/p>
