ADFC Road Bike Group

Since 2014, there has been a road bike group in our ADFC district association that meets regularly for rides. Within the ADFC, a road bike group is still something special. Our Wiesbaden initiative is the only one in Hesse so far.

Regular road bike meeting on the banks of the Rhine in Biebrich

The road bike group meets:

In the summer half-year usually 1-2 times a week on the banks of the Rhine in Biebrich (at the KD jetty/level tower). Dates and routes will be distributed by e-mail in advance.

The starting point on the Rhine was also chosen to include road bike enthusiasts from Mainz. As a rule, 40 to 70 kilometers are driven on the after-work tours. In doing so, mainly flat routes are selected and larger inclines are avoided. The pace is moderate and also suitable for road bike beginners. It's about fun on fast wheels, not competition. Popular destinations are the Rheingau, the Ried, Rheinhessen and the Wiesbaden "Ländchen".

On the weekends, occasionally longer road bike trips are organised in the summer half-year. On the one hand, own tours are offered, which are led by active people from the road bike group. On the other hand, we also like to participate in the cycling tours (RTF) and cycling marathons of the cycling clubs.

There is no proper season break.

Regular road bike meeting in Mainz at Fort Malakoff

Since 2019 there is a second road bike meeting:
