ADFC: Blocking the 1. Ring hardly affects cycling
On Wednesday, 26 June, the 1st ring in front of Wiesbaden's main train station was completely closed to traffic due to a water breach. The ADFC Wiesbaden notes that the restrictions on cycling are low. Despite the blockade, the bike remains the fastest and most flexible means of transport in the city.
Restoring the blocking of the right-turning state house
“We understand that rapid action has been taken to prevent car traffic from collapsing. On the first day after the conversion of the environmental lane between Gutenbergplatz and Am Landeshaus to a right turn lane, there is already a dangerous situation when changing lanes. In order to ensure that the intersection in front of the Landeshaus does not become a centre of gravity again within weeks, the environmental lane and the right-turn barrier must be removed immediately after the blocking of the 1. Ringes at the main train station’, says Günni Kerber, 1. Chairman of ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus.
