ADFC bicycle wardrobe at the "Bubenhäuser Weinrunde" in Eltville-Rauenthal on 25 May 2026
Huge success of the bicycle wardrobe at the ‘Bubenhäuser Weinrunde’ in Rheingau
On Whit Monday, the ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus operated its proven bicycle wardrobe for the first time at the Bubenhäuser Weinrunde in Eltville – and that was a hit!
Around 150 bicycles were handed over, including a chic tandem and even bikes with trailers. And the best part: The owners were able to leave their many high-quality electric bikes, normal touring bikes or racing bikes to the care of the ADFC without having to worry about theft. There is no safer way, as the bicycles have been guarded by several ADFC members on a voluntary basis.
But that's not enough: In addition to the wheels, helmets and bags could also be handed in. The visitors had their hands free and could thus enjoy the wine round carefree. The response was overwhelming! Many guests came by the booth to say thank you for the great service. Some even said: “All events should have that!”
The ADFC booth was a real magnet throughout the day. They chatted, laughed and also talked about the benefits of cycling. In between, the bicycle wardrobe was so full that wheels had to be rejected. "Next year we definitely need more space", says the initiator and Elvillerin Elke Tegeler from the ADFC Board.
With actions such as the bicycle wardrobe, the ADFC shows that cycling is not only practical, but also absolutely suitable for everyday use.
