2025: A brief review of an eventful year
Exciting activities are also planned for the new year
The year 2025 was marked by many innovations, but at the same time by many tried and tested. In any case, the former includes the election of the new board of directors and the adoption of the new statutes. Proven and once again very well received were, among other things, the Kidical Mass, the bicycle wardrobe at the Wiesbaden city festival and the joint summer festival in the greenhouse.
Commitment on many levels
An essential goal of the ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus is to improve the bicycle infrastructure. In order to promote it, we were also involved in new actions in addition to our well-known places. This included the day of action:Ride4Future" in Eltville, with a Kidical mass has started. With this children's bike Corso, the youngest road users and their parents can cycle comfortably and safely on the roads for about an hour.
A new format was also 1. Biebrich cycling days. The event organized by the ADFC as part of the traffic test of a car-free Rhine bank was a great opportunity to talk to visitors, hold political discussions and experience exciting actions around the bicycle. We are very much looking forward to a repeat next year!
Proven and yet new was the organized in cooperation with the ADFC Mainz-Bingen Bicycle flea market, which now takes place at the same time as the legendary slaughterhouse flea market at the Kulturpark. This combination was a hit and the resonance accordingly great. We are already looking forward to the bicycle flea markets next year. You can find the dates here.
One of the special moments in 2025 was the long-awaited official release of the Cycle path under the Schiersteiner Bridge.
The highlight of the year was, after all, the Extraordinary General Assembly the ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus on 20.10.2025 with the election of a new board of directors and the vote on a revised statute of the association. The new statute strengthens the working capacity of the ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus and enables a restructuring of the Executive Board. It now consists of five board members with the right to represent and three associate members, who are also entitled to vote on the board.
Joint visits to the Christmas markets as a traditional year-end
A beloved tradition at the end of the year is the joint visit to the regional Christmas markets. Here is the great opportunity to exchange ideas about the previous activities and to take a common look at the coming year. The start of this year is the visit to the Wiesbaden shooting star market, followed by visits to the Christmas markets in Rüdesheim and Idstein. We look forward to meeting you there! The exact dates and meeting points can be found in the Overview of dates.
Looking forward to 2026
We start the new year with an open door event at our office in Goebenstraße 1 in Wiesbaden. In addition to a convivial exchange at Glühwein/Punsch, activities around the topic of light are planned. Then, as usual, the active meeting will take place. Due to the Hessian Christmas holidays, we meet in January only on the second Monday, i.e. on 12.01., from 4 p.m. or 7 p.m.
Another focal point for the ADFC Wiesbaden/Rheingau-Taunus is the municipal election taking place in Hesse in March 2026. Since it is becoming apparent that the transport infrastructure will be a dominant campaign topic, we invite you to a panel discussion on the local elections together with other initiatives on 04.02.2026. The title of the event is ‘Attention, voting traffic!’. More information will follow shortly.
And, become curious and want to join in? We look forward to your support and invite you to visit one of the monthly active meetings or another event.
